Who are we?

Mediacom is an Italian fi rm that from 1993 provides consulting services at 360° to individual fi rms, institutions, consortiums and associations for the development of
the commercial activity in the ex Soviet Union.
It is present in the Russian Republic Federation from almost 15 years, and jointly to the controlled Russian fi rms, hires more than 250 employees. The Head Quarter is
located in Moscow and other 10 operational offi ces are spread over the territory. In 2004, Mediacom’s turnover was more than 120 million.
Mediacom performs consulting, representational and commercial activities in different sectors and can be seen as a reference point for the development of new business
in the ex USSR territory. The strength of the fi rm comes from its notable matured experience in the fi eld and its widespread presence over the territory.

Mediacom is the ideal partner for individual fi rms, associations and public or private institutions to develop business in the ex Soviet Union market and obtain, through
custom-made solutions, concrete results at reasonable costs. Mediacom wants to provide concrete solutions at all levels: from the most basic to the most complex which
require competence and specifi c professionalism.

Methodology and approach
 

 

Mediacom adopts a business methodology valid for all market sectors and in every
context in which it operates. The fi rm maintains a direct contact with the client during
all the phases of the project in progress.
It follows the course of activities step by step and offers the most complete range
of services. The model adopted places the client at the centre and focuses on the
progress, implementation and business development, intervening in every phases of
the process in a tangible and concrete manner:

Structure and Organization
 

 

Mediacom is the core from where a group of Russian fi rms, controlled by holding Rusmediacom, developed. The holding controls service fi rms, commercial fi rms (which some have been created together with Italian producers) and companies dedicated to specifi c business projects. The objective is to establish divisions, or business units, independent and autonomous which avail of the support and services of holding and have personnel and resources dedicated to individual projects. This organization scheme has allowed the commercial activities of Mediacom to expand in a well structured manner in numerous sectors. Through the creation of these dedicated commercial structures, the sectors in which Mediacom operates are constantly incrementing even considering the strong development of the economy and the will of the European fi rms to operate in the Russian market.


Export process
 

 

The existing fi rm network allows a rational and effi cient management of the export process allowing Mediacom to offer its proper services to fi rms that operate in a variety
of sectors. As a summary, the export process can be defi ned in 3 phases:

 

Commercial representation for the fi rm, with the purpose to position the product on the market and defi ne the commercial strategies;
Creation of Russian trading fi rms to develop the commercial activity and increase the number of clients (meeting the requirements of the small clients who have diffi -
culty importing directly because of the transportation and customs clearance problems)
Creation of establishments for in house production to overcome the diffi culties related to the exporting process, and to optimize the cost by using natural resources,
local labour force and thus avoiding the transportation costs and custom tax often very onerous.
